The elegant vacuum flask from Erik Magnussen is the best-selling product from Stelton. The jug with its unique tilt closure was presented in 1977 as a complement to the state-of-the-art yet timeless Arne Jacobsen Cylinda-Line range and its production was influenced by four completely different decades. The jug corresponds to the basic design of Arne Jacobsen: with its linear shape and two-tone appearance, it combined minimalism and functionality, which was very ahead of its time. Originally it was made only in stainless steel, but over the years this version was approx. 30 different colours and surface finishes. Thanks to its timeless design, the insulated jug was very quickly loved by trendsetters of the design and the sparks jumped extremely quickly onto the world wide borders of design lovers. In the anniversary year 2007, Steltonaus der hands der Danish crown princess couple Frederik & Mary received the highest Danish design award - exactly 30 years after this Stelton Designikone received the price as a world first. It is therefore the only product that received this award twice. Erik Magnussen (born 1940) was trained as a ceramist at the Art Academy in Denmark and received the silver medal for his outstanding work as a student at the end of 1960. His works are exhibited worldwide in various museums, including the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre in Paris. Magnussen has been awarded numerous awards over the years. In 1983 he was chosen as the designer of the year by the Danish Design Consul and his products were awarded several times with the ID prize of the Danish Association for Industrial Design.
